Songwriters Sallie Ford and Molly Burch Share Stubb’s Stage Sunday

Molly Burch has emerged as one of Austin’s most promising new talents. Her debut album, Please Be Mine, combined the traditional vocal pop sensibilities of Dusty Springfield with the slinky guitars and minimalist aesthetic of Angel Olsen. The album, which came out in February on Captured Tracks, has garnered glowing reviews from a number of media outlets. Burch has been touring widely since the release, including dates across the U.S. and Europe, and her live road-tested live band is outstanding. Austin will be lucky to welcome her home for a show on Stubb’s’ indoor stage in the middle of a month-long string of dates supporting Sallie Ford. For those unfamiliar with Ford, she has fronted a number of incarnations of a band, consistently tapping into big 70s rock sounds with distorted guitars, rolling organ, and fearless vocals. These a great double bill from two excellent songwriters touring together. Grab tickets for the show here, and stream music from both artists below, including a new video for Burch’s title track, “Please Be Mine.”
