Dark Pop Band Bouquet Shares “Stacks on Stacks” From Upcoming EP

We’ve followed the career of California band Bouquet since before the existed. After her project The Finches came to a halt, Carolyn Pennypacker Riggs took some time gathering her thoughts and forging a new band. Bouquet has existed as everything from a solo act to a four-piece band. Lately, the project seems to have landed on some consistency operating as a duo comprised of Pennypacker Riggs and Max Foreman. The two blend echoing guitars with drifting synths as they explore dark textures and watery atmospherics, as can be heard on their new track “Stacks on Stacks”. The band evokes the same sort of dark dream state as the Twin Peaks sound track, which we have noted previously. Bouquet has shared the stage with bands such as Mount Eerie and Bonnie ‘Prince’ Billy. With the impending release of their EP In A Dream, from which “Stacks on Stacks” is taken, the band is poised to reach a wider audience with their waves of somber pop. Listen below.
