Hear A Lo-Fi Country Ballad from Austin Leonard Jones

austin-leonard-jones-galvestonLos Angeles-based songwriter Austin Leonard Jones hails from Texas, and his music serves as evidence that his heart never really left. The songs recall mellow Byrds material as they drift by like some lazy country creek invoking elements of gospel. The short collection of tracks entitled Galveston was recorded by Sleep Good’s Will Patterson at Blackland Hall, a 100 year-old dance hall in Copeland, TX utilizing, at least in part, a 60s 8-track tape recorder once used by NASA. The brief album also contains a lengthy list of players from Austin’s music community. All six songs can be streamed on Bandcamp right here. Below you can stream lead track “Valley Pines.”
