TEEN Shares “Not For Long” From The Way and Color

Remember a few days ago when TEEN shared a teaser trailer for their upcoming album The Way and Color out April 22nd on Carpark Records, and we told you that as a barometer, the video indicated great things? Well, the first full track from the album was shared this week, and it is indeed a good thing, but not at all in the way we thought it would be. A snippet of the sparse, vocal-centered “Not For Long” does appear in the medley but is surrounded by buzzing, more busy soundscapes. The very end of “Not For Long” does begin to edge in the direction of psych tinged synth-pop, but the vast majority of the song employs smooth, soulful vocal harmonies and sparse production. Here, TEEN more fully embrace R&B than ever before. Stream “Not For Long” below, and catch the band at SXSW. Full dates follow the embed.
