New Track from Parquet Courts – “Light Up Gold

Last month we posted a track from punk-influenced, power-pop outfit Parquet Courts. The group is promoting a new track: the streamlined and steady, one-minute pop tune “Light Up Gold II.” The title track from the band’s recently released LP features talky lyrics that sync up with punchy, staccato guitar chords and recall Devo’s “Girl U Want.” The track offers a brief but exciting glimpse of material by this band who will play Austin’s Beerland on January 2nd. Full tour dates listed after the stream.
