Hear Mellow, Wavering Track “North of Anywhere” from Jack Cooper

Opening with a wavering, watery guitar chord and maintaining a mellow, fluid mood, “North of Anywhere,” the new single from Jack Cooper, meanders through soulful guitar parts and brushed snare with a nonchalance that recalls Velvet Underground. More contemporarily, the song recalls the work of Cooper’s other band, Ultimate Painting, in which he plays and co-songwrites. Cooper’s album Sandgrown will be released on August 25 via Trouble in Mind Records, which has quietly become an impressively consistent purveyor of outstanding albums of late. Stream “North of Anywhere” below; feel free to hit repeat as many times as you’d like.
