Hear Jennifer O’Connor’s Buzzing Pop Track “It’s a Lie”

jennifer_oconnorA decade ago, Jennifer O’Connor released a wonderful collection of indie pop songs called Over the Mountain, Across the Valley and Back to the Stars on Matador Records. The next year, I saw her perform a show with the Mountain Goats during SXSW 2007. I somehow missed her followup to that record in 2008, but Jennifer O’Connor is back with a new album, Surface Noiseset for release via Kiam Records on March 4th. “It’s a Lie,” the newest single to emerge from the album centers on the same carefully aware nuance and texture in O’Connor’s previous work. At the end of this month, O’Connor begins a series of dates with Neko Case and Amy Bezunartea. To see if she’ll be near you, check the tour dates that follow the embed of “It’s a Lie” below.
