Video: Antony – “Cut the World”

“Cut the World” is a new song from Antony that will be featured on the album, Cut the World, out tomorrow on Secretly Canadian, which is comprised of live symphonic recordings of songs spanning Antony’s albums. The song will also be featured in the upcoming stage performance, The Life and Death of Marina Abramović. Abramović appears in the video for “Cut the World” along with collaborator Willem Dafoe and Game of Thrones’ Carice Van Houten. “Cut the World” is cinematically gorgeous, deeply unsettling, and not-so-subtly advocates a shift from patriarchal structures to feminine centered societies. I don’t think it would be fair to say more about it. You have to see it for yourself. Watch above.
